This training gives insights in classification of dangerous goods according to legal foundation in international dangerous good transport regulations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG and IATA). The participants learn with the help of trainings and practical examples to recognize characteristic features of the different transport regulations and to carry out more complex classification examples by themselves successfully based on examples.
Content
- Principles of national and international dangerous goods legislation
- Overview of the different transport modes by highlighting the characteristics of the transport carriers - road, railroad, inland waterways, maritime and air transport
- Excercises to gain a safe handling with the respective legislations (ADR, RID, ADN, IMDG Code, IATA)
- Criteria of dangerous goods classification with exercises and practical examples
- International transport – providing insight into the national dangerous goods legislation of the USA (CFR 49) and the differences to EU and international regulations
- A comparison of hazardous substance law (GHS) and dangerous goods legislation on the basis of examples
- Introduction in the classification of waste materials
- Outlook about changes within the forthcoming versions of DG Regulations 2019

Basic knowledge of GHS and dangerous goods classification required. Participation in the training “Basics of transport classification with focus on ADR” is recommended.
